At the Park Unit in Tanum Municipality, we work both strategically and operationally with urban environment issues to create a sustainable and green municipality.

The unit is responsible for the development, maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the municipality's public parks, outdoor environments at public facilities such as schoolyards and preschools, natural areas, beaches, playgrounds, and squares.

We are facing an exciting development where green and sustainable environments play a central role. We are now looking for a gardener who, with commitment and professional skill, wants to help develop and maintain our public outdoor environments. We offer a varied and practical job in a fantastic outdoor environment, together with knowledgeable and engaged colleagues.

Responsibilities

As a gardener, you will work with the maintenance and development of the municipality's green areas and plantings. The tasks are varied and include, among other things:

• Maintenance of plantings, perennials, shrubs, and trees
• Maintenance of parks, playgrounds, schoolyards, and preschools' outdoor environments
• Lawn mowing, pruning, and weeding
• Maintenance and some clearing in community-adjacent nature and green areas
• Participation in seasonal tasks such as snow removal and ice prevention
• Daily practical work in park and garden environments.
• Design, planning, and ordering of seasonal plants in flowerbeds and pots

You will be part of the park unit's work team and collaborate closely with both park workers, park engineers, and the operations manager. The work is characterized by team spirit, service mentality, and shared responsibility for the whole. Other tasks within the department may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant education focused on gardening, landscaping, parks, or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer
• Good plant knowledge and practical experience in gardening and park work
• The ability to work both independently and in a team
• An interest in green environments, sustainability, and quality in execution

Post-secondary education in gardening and experience working in a public environment is meritorious, as well as knowledge of maintenance plans and simpler administrative tasks.

You are responsible, meticulous, and have a flexible approach. You enjoy varied work where conditions sometimes change and where collaboration and good communication are important.

A B driver's license is a requirement.

Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement. On-call duty and weekend work may be included in the position.
